We are looking for

Rödabergsskolan is seeking an engaged and secure school counselor for a parental substitute position for approximately one year, starting April 1. The position is 100%.

As a school counselor, you are a central part of the school's student health team and play an important role in the promotional and preventive work. You contribute with psychosocial competence and work closely with school management, teaching staff, and other professionals within student health. This is done, for example, in our regular EHM, student health meetings.

Your role

In the role of school counselor, you primarily work preventively and health-promoting. You are responsible for the school's work against bullying and absenteeism, hold conversations with students individually and in groups, participate in parent meetings and network meetings, and provide guidance and consultation to school staff. You document and actively work with problematic school absenteeism.

You will also be involved in the school's values work and in our joint work at the school regarding IBIS, inclusive behavioral support in schools. If you have experience with MVP (Mentors in Violence Prevention) or other values work, it is meritorious.

Summary of tasks

  • Preventive and health-promoting work in close collaboration with the student health team.
  • Responsibility for the school's work against bullying and absenteeism.
  • Conversations with students, parent collaboration, and network meetings.
  • Guidance and consultation of school staff.
  • Documentation and follow-up.
  • Active participation in the school's values work.

Your skills and experience

Requirements:

  • Degree in social work
  • Experience working as a school counselor, preferably in primary school.
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for psychosocial interventions.
  • Good collaboration skills and a respectful approach to differences.
  • Knowledge of the Education Act, curriculum, and governing documents.

Meritorious:

  • Experience in values work and violence prevention.
  • Experience working with students of different ages and backgrounds.
  • Experience and knowledge of students in adapted primary schools.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. You are secure in your professional role, solution-oriented, and relationship-building.

Welcome with your application!

We look forward to hearing from you and welcome you to a workplace where you can combine development, holistic thinking, and meaningful work. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis. The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thus counteracting discrimination.
